Interesting project. I like the V-strom too, allthough I have to say the 650 runs more smoothly than the 1000, but I understand your need for more power

Some silly questions :

What kind of bike, (with the damaged frame) is standing behind the V-Strom, or am I just imagening that?

What do you think? What kind of frame has the V-Strom? Alumina? Or is it fake. I never really looked at it. A lot of professional rig-builders are afraid to construct anything with a frame like that. I know getting it on the road, will not be a great problem in the UK, since a lot of kit-cars for example, built up in the Netherlands, first go to the UK to get their European papers and then get easily through inspection in the Netherlands.

Nice welding though. I won't say anything about the "sharp edges", since I'm clear, you've just started

Hi Richard,the bike behind the v-strom is a zx7r,the frame is not damaged it does have a small mark /scrape.The frame of the v-strom is aluminium,the sharp edges will be rounded off,i have seen two v-strom outfits,one in America by Dauntless(who were no help at all) and the other was by Ruko who are a german company i think,i can understand manufacturers reluctance to do this bike it is not easy at all,i have to try and find as many mounting points as possible,i will keep the forum posted with more photos,thanks

ABEND,SO ITS BEEN OVER A YEAR NOW SINCE I POSTED ABOUT THE V-STROM AND TODAY WE HAVE A LITTLE MORE PROGRESS,EARLIER IN THE YEAR I PURCHASED A SET OF DO IT YOURSELF LEADINGLINK FORKS,FROM NICE MR ROBIN RIND-TUTT(WASP)TO YOU AND ME,HE BENT THE TUBE AND GAVE ME A SHED FULL OF OUTHER BITS SO I COULD HAVE A GO AT MAKING A PAIR MYSELF,SO HERE THEY ARE,OK THEY ARE NOT FINISHED BUT YOU GET THE IDEA
